Mukesh Ambani came out with free calls and free 4G services to people through his Reliance Jio Company. However, Mukesh is yet to give Rs 1577 crores to MMRDA. This came into limelight when RTI activist Anil Galgali filed RTI about the same. Anil is of the view that why MMRDA is keeping mum about the matter when they are in need of revenue.

Anil Galgali got information about various companies who are in debt of MMRDA. These companies have not paid revenue of Rs 1628 crores 69 lakh 47 thousand 935.  In this total debt, 95% of the debt belongs to Reliance. BKC’s GC 64 & GC 66 are yet to pay Rs 1187 crore 59 lakh 54 thousand 968 & Rs 389 crore 31 lakh 17 thousand 872.
Anil Galgali has asked CM Devendra Fadanvis to look into MMRDA matter and has also asked to clear the debt.

Along with Reliance, above companies are yet to pay revenue to MMRDA
Naman hotel – 23 crores 68 lakh 29 thousand 639 rupees
Indian newspaper Society – 28 crore 12 lakh 70 thousand 629 rupees   
Commissioner of Income Tax- 5 lakh 56 thousand 59 rupees
Maharashtra Maritime Board 7 crore 21 lakh 10 thousand 647 rupees
