The country's first Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project’s 100 percent land acquisition has been completed. 1,389.49 hectares of land has been acquired for this project till January 8, 2024 in Dadra-Nagar Haveli, Maharashtra, Gujarat.


1.12 percent of the land required for this project was yet to be acquired. It took a year for the administration to take possession of this place. Meanwhile, the National High Speed Railway Corporation Limited informed that after acquiring the required land, further work has been expedited.


The Central Government established the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited in February 2016. In this, the work of designing and implementing the project to build a network of bullet trains across the country was given to this company. This company has worked on the country's first Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train. But there was delay in land acquisition in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Dadra Nagar Haveli.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project requires 430.45 hectares of land in the state. In January 2023, out of 430.45 hectares of land, 425.24 hectares (98.79 percent) of land was acquired. In Gujarat, out of 951.14 hectares of land, 940.77 hectares (98.91 per cent) of land was completely acquired, while in Dadra-Nagar Haveli, 7.90 hectares of land was acquired.


In December 2023, 100 percent land was acquired in Gujarat, 100 percent in Dadra-Nagar Haveli and 99.83 percent in Maharashtra. After that, by acquiring land in some parts of Thane district in January 2024, 100 percent land of the state has also come under the control of National High Speed Railway Corporation Limited
