On Monday morning, the residents of Marol's Woodland Crest residential society near Vijay Nagar, spotted a leopard, sleeping under a vehicle. The locality is barely 100m away from the boundary wall of Aarey Milk Colony.
Two teams of forest officials rushed to the spot. Forest official Santosh Kank and wildlife warden Pawan Sharma are also a part of the team. Sharing the information, Pawan Sharma said that some locals had informed the forest department that an adult leopard had entered inside a building. Activist Sunish Subramanian of Plant and Animals Welfare Society (PAWS) also confirmed that some of their volunteers had reached the spot. Efforts are being made by the forest officials to catch the animal.

Notably, a leopard was also spotted in Thane's Pokhran road hotel on February 20, 2019. It is being said that deforestation is a major concern for an imbalance in the habitat of these animals.
