According to reports, a massive fire broke out in a wood godown in the Byculla area of Mumbai on Monday early morning, January 10.

However, no casualty has been reported so far. Nearly eight to ten fire engines were rushed to the spot to douse the flames, said the Mumbai fire brigade officials.

As per initial reports, a level-2 fire incident took place near Mustafa Bazar in Byculla around 5.30 am. Rescue operation is underway. The cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed, said the officials.

Visuals from the spot showed black smoke billowing as flames rise up.

Earlier this month, on January 3, a fire broke out in a godown in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area. To douse the fire, 8 fire engines and water tankers rushed to the location. The fire broke out in a furniture scrap shop on Monday morning, but no reports of any casualties were made, stated civic officials

Besides, in another similar incident, a massive fire broke out at the godown of a complex in Thane's Bhiwandi area on December 15.
