Mumbai Railway Police, which is responsible for providing security on the Mumbai Suburban Railway line, will now be extended to Sindhudurg, as per the reports by Loksatta. A proposal in this regard has recently been sent to the state government. According to the proposal, the responsibility of safety of Konkan Railway will be handed over to Mumbai Railway Police and for this three new railway police stations will be established in Konkan. The post of Deputy Commissioner of Konkan Railway Police will be created for the security of this additional line of 447 km. 800 police force has been demanded for the security of Konkan Railway.

Proposal of 800 Police for Konkan Railway
A new post of Konkan Railway Police Deputy Commissioner will be created for the security of Konkan Railway. The proposal states that 800 police personnel are needed under the guidance of this Deputy Commissioner. The Konkan Railway Deputy Commissioner of Police will work under the Mumbai Railway Police Commissioner.
