Twitterati goes berserk as lockdown 2021 trends on social media

As Maharashtra records 25,681 fresh novel coronavirus cases on Friday, March 19, ongoing talks with regards to a fresh lockdown being imposed across the state, especially in Mumbai have been conducted.

Moreover, with Mumbai recording 3,062 cases in the day, it remains a major novel coronavirus hotspot in the state. Meanwhile, districts like Amaravati, Yavatmal and Latur have been put already under restrictions.

On Friday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, further addressing the citizens stated that lockdown would be an option to control the spike in COVID-19 cases in which people will have to abide by the guidelines. In addition, he stated that the officials are thinking about a lockdown in the state as it is one of the options in the future, however, he trusts that the citizens will cooperate and support the government by following the norms like it was done previously during the first wave. Back then, the country did not have any other means to control the spread, however, the vaccine is available now and it is a ray of hope.

Moreover, the state government has decided to impose strict guidelines until March 31, 2021, whereby offices will work at 50 per cent capacity. Meanwhile, hotels, bars, restaurants, theatres and cinema halls will also be functioning at 50 per cent capacity.
