The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced 10 per cent discount on tickets for all passengers of Mumbai Metro route 2A and 7 on May 20, which is the poling day in the city.
This initiative aims to encourage voter participation among Mumbaikars. Around 90 crore citizens have traveled through Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7 so far.
This initiative further underscores the importance of Metro Lines in meeting the transportation needs of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
Greater Mumbai Metro is actively participating in the Voter Awareness and Participation (SVEEP) initiative to encourage metro commuters to vote in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 and make them aware of their duty to vote.
Of the 48 seats in Maharashtra, Mumbai accounts for six, while the adjoining MMR has four. Mumbai’s six seats include Mumbai North, Mumbai North East, Mumbai North West, Mumbai North Central, Mumbai South and Mumbai South Central. MMR has Thane, Kalyan, Bhiwandi and Palghar.
