As per the reports released by the Centre, Maharashtra state generated more than 8 lakh jobs between September 2017 and March 2018 in the organised sector.

The EPFO data revealed that a total of 39.36 lakh jobs were created across the country in the above-mentioned period. Maharashtra is followed by Tamil Nadu and Gujarat, at the second and third position for adding 4.65 lakh and 3.92 lakh jobs, respectively.

Along with generating jobs, the Union social justice ministry provided the data which showed that in 2012-2013, 4,682 inter-caste marriages were registered in the state. The figure escalated to 4,971 in 2013-14, in 4,283 in 2014-15, 3,405 in 2015-16 and 3,134 in 2016-17.
