According to reports, the Maharashtra government has decided to develop the area around Shirdi airport in Ahmednagar as a well-planned city.

This will be done on the lines of the Naina (Navi Mumbai Airport-Influenced Notified Area) project in Navi Mumbai. According to a report in Hindustan Times, on Wednesday, September 29, this decision was taken in a meeting of Maharashtra Airport Development Corporation (MADC) chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Moreover, the influence area around the airport has also been named ‘ASHA’ (Area around Shirdi Hub Airport).

On the other hand, in the past, with the instances of COVID-19 cases witnessing an increase across the state, the Ahmednagar District Collector had imposed a night curfew due to which the Sai Sansthan in Shirdi has announced a new time for the darshan for Sai devotees.

According to sources, along with the time of darshan, some other restrictions have also been imposed for the devotees. As per the new schedule decided by Shri Sai Baba Sansthan, in order to prevent the further spread of the contagious disease, Sai devotees will be able to take darshan from 6 am to 9 pm. After that, Sai Sansthan has decided to keep the Darshan closed for 9 hours from 9 pm to 6 am.
