Major fire breaks out at Mehtab CHS in Kurla West

It is reported that the residents heard some blasts during the incident and immediately evacuated the building. Respective teams are at the incident spot to douse the fire.

Late on Friday night, a Level-III fire broke out in 'Mehtab CHS,' a residential building in Kurla West. It is said that the building is located near the Kurla Railway station and is more than 80 years old.

Reports state that some cylinders blasted in a second floor apartment located in the C wing of the building. Free Press Journal reported that the incident would have happened because of the short circuit caused by the water motor. However, no official information has been received.

Respective rescue teams reached the spot with seven fire engines, two quick response vehicles , six jumbo tankers, one water tanker and a control post. Mumbai Mirror spoke to a resident named Nisha, who said that she was informed about the fire by a girl post which the residents left their houses immediately. She further stressed that they heard total four explosions from the place.

His mother was alone at home during the incident but she has been resuced now.  at the time of the incident has since been rescued. Other residents who have been trapped in the building have been rescued too. No further information regarding the injured individuals is received and no casualties have been reported so far.
