Central Railway has temporarily cancelled several major express trains after a landslide disrupted rail traffic in the Karjat–Lonavala ghat section. The cancellations, announced as a safety measure, will remain in effect from July 10 to July 17, 2026, while restoration work is carried out on a war footing.
The disruption has affected train services connecting Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolhapur, Hubballi, Indore, Daund, Jodhpur and Shirdi. Railway personnel are working at the site to clear debris and restore normal operations at the earliest.
Among the daily trains cancelled in both directions during the period are the Hubballi–Dadar Express, Indore–Daund Express, CSMT–Hyderabad Express, Deccan Queen, Deccan Express, CSMT–Pune Intercity Express, and CSMT–Chennai Egmore Superfast Mail.
Central Railway has also cancelled select services of the Mahalaxmi Express, Jodhpur–Hadapsar Express, Satara–Dadar Express, and Dadar–Sainagar Shirdi Express on specified dates. In addition, special trains operating on the CSMT–Gorakhpur, Pune–Gorakhpur, Pune–Ghazipur City, and Pune–Hazrat Nizamuddin routes have also been withdrawn.
Central Railway has advised passengers to check the latest status of their trains through the official railway mobile app, helpline or its official social media channels before starting their journey. Passengers have also been urged to review revised schedules and alternative travel arrangements, as further changes to train services may be announced depending on the progress of restoration work in the ghat section.
