A massive fire broke out at a godown in Mumbai’s Byculla area on Wednesday evening, January 12. As per accounts, it was a Level 2 fire that took place at 7:44 pm at Clay Road, Madanpura area in Byculla.

Meanwhile, it is pertinent to note that recently a similar incident that took place in Byculla itself where a level-2 fire occurred near Mustafa Bazar around 5.30 am on January 10.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said that the fire has been confined to the ground floor plus one (floor). However, no injuries have been reported so far in the incident.

According to the reports, eight fire tenders, five jumbo tenders were deployed to douse the fire while an ambulance also rushed to the spot.

Soon, the Mumbai Fire Brigade Official stated that the fire was later brought under control and added that no casualties were reported in the incident.

Moreover, the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained. 

Besides, on the same day, a gas leak was reported one person died and two sustained injuries in Ghatkopar. Few days later, Mumbai Police arrested the supervisor of the company.

Earlier this month, on January 3, a fire broke out in a godown in Mumbai's Ghatkopar area. To douse the fire, 8 fire engines and water tankers rushed to the location. The fire broke out in a furniture scrap shop on Monday morning, but no reports of any casualties were made, stated civic officials

In another similar incident, a massive fire broke out at the godown of a complex in Thane's Bhiwandi area on December 15.
