On Monday, January 10, morning, a tow tractor that was being made ready to push back an Air India aircraft burst into flames at the Mumbai airport, reports stated.

The said mishap transpired at nearly 10.45 am when the AI-647 Air India flight was made ready to fly to Jamnagar at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA).

According to reports, the tow bar was being put into the A320 flight when it suddenly caught fire. Adding that the pushback tug had come back after refueling. 

News agency ANI quoted Mumbai Airport PRO saying, "The Mumbai-Jamnagar flight has 85 passengers onboard. The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes. There is no harm to any person. All operations are normal".

The account further elaborated on how the airport fire services reached the location. The flight with 85 passengers on board was standing some feet away from the vehicle on fire and hence wasn't damaged. Owing to this incident, the flight to Jamnagar departed nearly 20 minutes late.

According to reports, apart from the fact that there wasn't any damage to the flight, human casualties and a major mishap were also averted and all operations at the CSMIA are ongoing normally.
