A massive fire broke out in a spare part market in Kurla on Wednesday afternoon, April 7. As soon as the incident was reported, the fire department reached the site to douse the flames.
According to reports, the blaze erupted in the congested market located at CST Kurla Road, near Kapadia Nagar, Gully No.4 on Kutub Mandali Road around 4.18 pm. It was declared as a major fire by the Fire Brigade around 4.30 pm.
Earlier, the BMC had declared a level-2 fire incident. It has been originated from a vehicle spare part shop. Later, it was upgraded to level-3. Though, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Fighting operations are underway, however, no injuries have been reported yet, said BMC officials who are also present at the site. Eight fire engines and jumbo water tankers have reached the spot. Besides, the crowd was seen thronging around the area.
