After the Seventh Pay Commission suggestion, the Central Government decided to provide single male parents working in the government sector to avail Child Care Leave of 730 days during their employment term.
The central government issued a gazette notification regarding the same. This was suggested by Seventh Pay Commission after which the government approved the child care leaves for single male employees.

Earlier, the child care leaves were only granted to female employees. This will only be applicable to the single male parent who is divorced and his child is below the age of 18.
