The Vikhroli Metro Station on the Wadala–Thane–Kasaravadavali Metro Line 4 will be connected to the Kanjurmarg Railway Station through a dedicated foot overbridge (FOB). The construction of this bridge is expected to cost around INR 93 crore, and MMRDA has recently issued a tender to appoint a contractor.

Currently, four metro corridors are operational in Mumbai. Initially, these routes did not receive a strong commuter response, but ridership has been steadily increasing. Several more metro lines, including Metro Line 4, are expected to become operational in the coming years. Metro Line 4 will connect Mumbai with Thane.

As part of the plan to improve connectivity, several metro stations will eventually be linked to nearby railway stations. Under this initiative, Vikhroli Metro Station will be connected to Kanjurmarg Railway Station through a 740-metre-long foot overbridge. This bridge will allow passengers to move directly between the two stations with ease.

MMRDA has now taken steps to appoint a contractor for the foot overbridge and has published the tender. Once the tender process is completed, work will begin, and the construction will need to be completed within 18 months. The bridge will include one escalator, and for passenger safety, 25 CCTV cameras will be installed along the structure.
