Walking guidelines in factories
Keeping in view the increase in air pollution in Mumbai, the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board has announced new guidelines for readymix cement concrete factories in the Mumbai metropolitan area. However, it has been noticed that these guidelines are not being followed and recently a complaint has been lodged with the board in this regard.
Social activist Godfrey Pimenta has complained to the Pollution Control Board about non-compliance of guidelines in some readymix cement concrete factories. According to the new guidelines, it is mandatory to set up air quality monitors to measure PM 2.5 and PM 10 particulate matter in the premises of readymix cement factories.
