The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has informed that there will be a 10 percent water cut in all the departments of Mumbai for 12 days. Since work will be done to replace the air bladders in the pneumatic gate system in the pipes that supply water to the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, there will be water cut in all sections of Mumbai. According to the information given by BMC, the work of replacing the air bladder in the pneumatic gate system in the water supply pipe will be done from Monday November 20, 2023 to Saturday, December 2, 2023.
This urgent repair work will affect the water supply by Mumbai and Mumbai Municipal Corporation to Thane, Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation. Therefore, water supply to Thane and Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation will be reduced by 10 percent by the civic body. The BMC supplies water to areas within Thane and Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation limits.
The BMC has said that citizens of all sections of Mumbai Metropolitan Region should keep necessary stock of water a day before the water cut during the above period. Also, Mumbai Municipal Corporation Administration has requested to cooperate by using water in moderation during the curfew.
