The number of passengers is likely to increase significantly in the backdrop of the final match of the T20 World Cup 2026.
Keeping this in mind, Western Railway (WR) has announced to run special superfast trains between Mumbai Central and Ahmedabad.
Western Railway officials said, "Two additional superfast special trains will be run between Mumbai Central and Ahmedabad on select dates.
The schedule of the trains is as follows:
1. Train No. 09027 - will depart Mumbai Central on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11.45 pm and will reach Ahmedabad at 8.30 am the next day. Train No. 09028 - will depart Ahmedabad on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 3.00 am and will reach Mumbai Central at 11.15 am.
2. Train No. 09021 - will depart Mumbai Central on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 6.20 am and will reach Ahmedabad at 12.40 pm. Train No. 09022 - will depart Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 3.10 pm and will reach Mumbai Central at 9.45 pm.
In addition, Central Railway (CR) has decided to run special train between CSMT and Ahmedabad on March 7.

Officials stated that these special trains will provide additional travel options to the cricket fans. It will also help to reduce overcrowding and inconvenience to the passengers.
