According to the latest reports, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has instructed all the COVID-19 ward war rooms to solve other prominent issues of Mumbai apart from that of coronavirus.

In light of this, based on accounts, locals can voice their discontent to their respective ward war rooms about issues in the arena of health solid waste management, fumigation and sewerage cleaning.

The aim of the said decision is reportedly to solve the problems of each ward at their respective levels, remarked narratives. Speculations can be made that the said resolution was driven by the fact that the number of COVID-19 cases in Mumbai is dipping.

This is coupled with the fact that citizens are unaware of where to voice their issues. Suresh Kakani, Additional Municipal Commissioner was quoted in accounts elaborating on how they appreciate the work done by the ward war room personnel.

Inspired by this, they now look to carry on the same activity in resolving non-coronavirus problems by assisting them in reaching the requisite departments.

Kakani in narratives further elucidated that they came up with this initiative since pre-COVID they attained many complaints about how there was the absence of a helpline where complaints can be lodged.

He believes that because there is already a decentralized system in force it will continue on the path of success and accessibility, cited reports. In April 2021 the dedicated ward war rooms were started to assist locals with the requirement of COVID-19 beds or ambulances.
