The total number of coronavirus cases in Mumbai reach to 91,745 with 5,244 deaths and 63,431 cases being recovered. As per the data by the state health department, there were 1,284 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Maximum city. 

According to a data shared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on social media, 39 deaths were reported in the last 48 hours out of which 32 patients had co-morbidities. 25 were male and 14 females. 3 people that lost their fight with the virus were below the age of 40 years, 26 were above the age of 60 years and 10 were between the age of 40 to 60 years.

The recovery rate of Mumbai district has increased to 69 per cent and the doubling rate is now 50 days. The active number of containment zones including slums and chawls is 732, the active number of sealed buildings are 6751.

The total number of cases in other districts in the MMR region is as follows:

Thane: 8,037

Navi Mumba: 10,516

Kalyan Dombivli: 13,832

Mira Bhayandar: 5,826

Vasai Virar: 7,541

Ulhasnagar: 4,089

Panvel: 4,048

Bhivandi: 2,895

Nashik: 1,552

 To break the chain of the virus, there is a Lockdown imposed in Maharashtra which will remain intact till July 31, 2020, along with strict lockdown in containment areas. People in the state are also benefiting with testing norms being eased as they no longer need a prescription to get themselves tested anymore. The authorities have also set up quarantine and health centres in different parts of the city in order to make sure that the treatment is provided to people who have been tested positive for coronavirus. The authorities have also been requesting people to abide  by the rules and not venture out if not important
