On Thursday, a police official stated that a 55-year-old man lost his life after he was caught under the wheel of a running BEST bus. Based on the report by PTI, the man was trying to catch the bus in Mumbai’s Goregaon.

The said event transpired in the afternoon on Wednesday near the bus depot in Goregaon. The police officer based on the report has also stated that the bus driver has been brought behind bars on the charge of negligent driving.

The official further elaborated that the man who died has been identified as Vasant Ghondu Ghole. He is said to have lost his balance when attempting to catch the bus which was running. While doing so, he was caught under its rear wheel. Although he was promptly taken to the hospital located nearby, he was declared dead when he reached there.

The BEST Bus driver, Ulhas Mane has been booked under IPC sections, which include causing death by negligence (304-A) and rash driving (279), stated Anil Waghmare, senior police inspector of Vanrai police station, stated the report.

Additionally, further investigation is being conducted with the CCTV footage of the spot being scanned.

In other news, a BEST bus accident in Bhandup West resulted in the death of a senior citizen on Wednesday.
