Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar hospitalised; rubbishes news about her death

As per reports, Mayor Pednekar complained of chest pain in the night on Saturday, July 17, post which she was taken to Mumbai's Global Hospital for check-up.

The Mayor of Mumbai, Kishori Pednekar, was rushed to Mumbai's Global Hospital, on Sunday, July 18, 2021, after she complained of chest pain. As per reports, she felt the pain from the night on Saturday, July 17, 2021, and was taken to the hospital for treatment, where she is currently admitted. 

Mayor Pednekar was infected with coronavirus (COVID-19) in 2020, and was admitted at Andheri's Seven Hills Hospital. As per the information shared by Deputy Mayor Suhas Wadkar, the pain could be related to the COVID recovery. 

She complained of the chest pain on Saturday and was taken to the hospital for a check-up, post which the doctors suggested admission. Reports state that the pain could be epigastric in nature.

However, a popular publication reported news about Kishori Pednekar's death, soon after which, she took to Twitter and said, "Dear @indiatoday, I am very much alive and taking treatment at the Global Hospital. Also FYI ate Dal Khichdi some time back. I am sure as a leading media group you all are aware of basic Journalistic principles Please bother to verify such news. That's least one can expect."

Several leaders also took to Twitter wishing Mayor a speedy recovery. Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said, "Wishing you a speedy recovery Hon. Mayor @KishoriPednekar ji!"

Supriya Sule tweeted, "Wishing Kishori Tai Pednekar a speedy recovery. Get Well Soon."

Kishori Pednekar became the Mayor of Mumbai in 2019 before which she was the corporator for three terms.
