The ministers also took the first ride on the Metro Line 9.
The new route covers four stations running 4.5 km from Dahisar to Kashigaon in Mira Road, which was so far not connected to the city's metro network.
These stations include Dahisar, Pandhurang Wadi, Miragaon and Kashigaon. They run along the Western Express Highway (WEH), offering a faster and cheaper alternative to the perpetually congested Dahisar toll booth.
It is expected to provide relief to commuters in the Mira Road region, which currently depends heavily on road transport, leading to frequent traffic congestion.
Mira-Bhayander's first line, Metro Line 9, is ready and with this Dahisar East will become the pivotal station that connects Metro Line 9, 2A and 7.

According to reports, the first train will leave at 5:50 am (from Kashigaon to Gundavli), and the last train will be at 11 pm. During rush hours, trains will run every 6 minutes, while every 8 to 10 minutes during normal times.
Commuters travelling to and from Mira Road will not need to change trains to connect with Line 7, which runs between Dahisar East and Gundavali in Andheri East. At Dahisar, there is also an interchange with Line 2A for those heading to Andheri West/DN Nagar.
Meanwhile, the remaining four stations on Line 9 that will run till Bhayandar West are expected to open within six months.
