Ltd., a subsidiary of Japan's Honda Motor Company Limited, to set up E-Swap battery swapping stations at metro and monorail stations in Mumbai. Accordingly,
Under Mahamumbai Metro's green initiative, Honda's advanced battery swapping technology will be installed at 25 metro stations and 6 monorail stations.
The policy was approved at the 29th board meeting of MMMOCL, chaired by MMRDA Commissioner and Mahamumbai Metro Chairman, Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee. Honda has assured to install its e-swap system. Through this system, users of electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers can replace their depleted Honda Mobile Power Pack E battery with a fully charged battery in just two minutes.
Battery installation will be carried out in accordance with strict safety, technical and environmental standards, ensuring easy access and ease of use for everyday EV users, delivery agents and fleet operators.
With the first E- swap station already operational at Dahisar East, Mumbai is now among the first Indian cities to integrate battery swapping with its public transport network, setting an example for sustainable mobility across the country.
Facilities will be available at:
- Metro 7 Line (Red Line): Gundavali, Mogra, Jogeshwari East, Goregaon East, Aarey, Dindoshi, Kurar, Akurli, Poisar, Devi Pada, National Park
- Metro 2A Line (Yellow Line): Dahisar East, Anand Nagar, Kanderpada, Exar, Borivali West, Shimpoli, Kandivali West, Dahanukarwadi, Malad West, Lower Malad, Bangur Nagar, Oshiwara, Lower Oshiwara, Andheri West
