Mumbai Traffic Update: Curb On Vehicular Movement & Parking In Several Areas On Dr. BR Ambedkar Jayanti

The 132nd Jayanti of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar will be observed on April 15, 2023 and for that his followers in large number are expected to visit Chaitya Bhoomi, Dadar, Mumbai.

The Mumbai Traffic Police has announced two-day regulations to the vehicular movement on roads leading to Dadar on the occasion of 132nd Jayanti of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, which will be observed on April 14.

This will come into effect from 11 am on April 13 and will remain in place till midnight of April 14.

Every year, in large numbers, his followers across Maharashtra make to visit Chaitya Bhoomi, Dadar, Mumbai.  

Considering such a huge crowed at Chaitya Bhoomi dadar, vehicle traffic on nearby roads of Chaitya Bhoomi will be affected.

Roads Closed/One Way:

  • S. K. Bole road shall be "One-way" from Siddhivinayak Junction upto Portugues Church that means there shall be "No-Entry" from Portugues Church to Siddhi Vinayak Junction.
  • S.V.S. Road from Siddhi Vinayak Junction to Yes Bank junction shall be closed for all types of Vehicular Traffic (Local residents can proceed through Road No 5 i.e. Pandurang Naik Marg).
  • Ranade Road shall be closed for all types of vehicular traffic.
  • Dnyaneshwar Mandir Road shall be closed for all types of vehicular traffic from its junction at S.V.S. Road upto Dadar Chowpatty.
  •  All heavy vehicles, goods vehicles including tempos (except BEST buses) shall be diverted from Mahim Junction via L. J. Road.

Alternate routes

SOUTH-BOUND TRAFFIC:

Vehicular movement from Western Express Highway and proceeding towards South Mumbai shall take left turn from Kalanagar Junction, and shall proceed through Dharavi T Junction towards Sion Railway Station or through 60 ft Rd Dharavi via Kumbharwada right turn at Sion Hospital, and proceed through Dr. B. A. Road, or they can use Bandra-Worli Sea Link via Bandra to proceed towards South Mumbai.

NORTH-BOUND TRAFFIC:

Vehicle traffic from Colaba or CSMT through North-bound

North-bound vehicular traffic coming from Mahalaxmi Rly Station via Dr. E. Moses Rd

EASTERN HIGHWAY Vehicles coming from Eastern express highway towards South Mumbai.

Alternate Road available: Shall proceed through P D'mello Rd., Barrister Nath Pai Road, Zakeria Bunder Rd., R.A.K. Road, Right turn under Matunga Arora bridge then shall proceed along Sion Hospital or shall use

Worli-Bandra Sea Link towards north Mumbai Shall take right turn at Rakhangi Chowk and proceed through Senapati Bapat Rd for their further journey.

Eastern Expressway motorists shall use Wadala Bridge, Barkat ali naka, BPT Colony and shall proceed through Eastern free way for their further journey

No Parking Zones:

  • S. Veer Savarkar Road.
  • Ranade Road
  • Keluskar Road (South), and (North)
  • Dnyaneshwar Mandir Road

Alternate Parking Spaces:

  • Senapati Bapat Road, Mahim and Dadar
  • India Bull Finance Center, Elphinstone, Mumbai (PPL)
  • Kohinoor Square, Kohinoor Mill Compound, Shivaji park, Dadar (PPL)
  • India Bulls Center, Jupiter Mill Compound, Elphinstone (PPL)
  • Kamagar Stadium (Senapati Bapat Road)
  • Five Garden RAK 4 Road
