
To ensure faster response times to crime scenes in Mumbai and the metropolitan area and to respond to complaints received on helpline numbers 100 and 112, a total of 1,290 new and advanced vehicles have been added to the Mumbai Police Force.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis flagged off these vehicles today, February 26, at Murli Deora Chowk in Nariman Point, Mumbai.
This move will help the Mumbai police in strengthening people-centric response and on-ground readiness.
Minister of State for Home Affairs (Urban) Yogesh Kadam, Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration) S. Jayakumar, and other police officials were present at the event.
A fleet of modern vehicles were flagged off today to strengthen our people-centric policing and enhance our response capabilities.

These vehicles include 657 two-wheelers and 633 four-wheelers. These four-wheelers include Scorpios and larger Armenia vehicles. Currently, the Mumbai Police Helpline's response time to complaints is 5.30 minutes.

All these vehicles have a mobile data terminal, a vehicle tracking system, and a GPS. These additions will enable us to respond faster, more effectively, and efficiently, further reinforcing the safety and security of our citizens, said a top official.
