Mumbai Traffic Update: Attention, Mumbaikars Take A Note Of Diversion Advisory For Today - Details Here

Mumbai Traffic Police (MTP) has issued traffic advisory and diversion routes for commuters today, August 9, in the view of Muharram procession.

During the procession huge traffic congestion is expected, hence to avoid traffic congestion and to streamline traffic it is necessary to make an order on temporary basis. Hereby order that following changes in traffic management will come into effect on August 9, 2022, between 15.00 hrs. to 00.00 hrs on temporary basis.

Muharram procession on August 8 and 9, 2022 will start from Honda Corner, passing Nesbit Junction, JJ Road North Channel and end at Sir JJ Marg South Channel, Sir JJ Junction, IR Road Pakmodia Street Zainbia Hall.

The Muharram procession will be carried from Dharavi 60-feet Road, 90-feet Road, Mahim Sion Link Road, Saint Rohidas Road so the traffic will be diverted on the following roads between 3 pm and 12 am.

On the occasion of Muharram processions on 9 August, 2022, 60 feet road, 90 feet road, Dharavi, Mahim Sion Link Road, Sant Rohidas Marg, Mahim will be closed for vehicular movement between 3 pm to 12 am.

Traffic Diversion on following roads:

1. Vehicular traffic proceeding from Mahim Sion Link Road towards Kemkar Chowk shall proceed through Dharavi T Junction and by taking U Turn from Kalanagar Junnction and shall proceed their desire destination.

2. Vehicular traffic proceeding from Matunga through Kumbhar wada junction shall proceed through Sion hospital- Sion Junction- Sion Rly Stn and their desire destination.

3. Vehicular traffic proceeding from Sion Rly Station through Saint Rohidas Road shall proceed through L.B.S Road towards their desire destination

4. Vehicular traffic proceeding from Mahim Traffic division through Raheja bridge shall proceed through Mahim Mori Road through Senapati Bapat Marg towards their desire destination.

Diversions:

A) North Bound

All the traffic coming from Chakald Junction to proceed towards Sir J. J. Junction via Mohammed Ali Road, will be diverted to P.D'mello Road via Carnac Bunder Bridge at Chakala Junction, half an hour before commencement of the procession.

B) South Bound

All the traffic coming from Khadaparshi Juction towards Nesbit Junction, will be diverted to Balvantsingh Dodhi Marg.

C) Mandavi Juntion Vehicles coming from Kalbadevi Road & I. R. Road to Mandvi Junction will be Diverted on Mohd. Ali Road Chakla Junction L. T. Marg - Carnac Bunder Bridge - P.D'Mello Road.

D) Noorbaug Junction

Vehicles coming from Noorbaug Junction towards Sir J.J. Junction will be diverted to Dr.Maheshwari Road Wadi Bunder Bridge - Wadi Bunder Junction - P.D'mello Road.

All these restrictions will remain from the commencement of procession at 16:00 hrs till it gets over.

On August 9, 2022, a procession of Ashura i.e" Sham-e-gariba" for Mohurram is scheduled from 14-00 hrs on following road. It will start from Zainabia Hall - Pakmodia Street along Yakub Street, IR Road, Sir JJ Junction, Sir JJ Road, Nesbit Junction, Balwantsingh Dhodi Bridge and terminates at Rehamatabad Cemetery at Mazgaon.

All North Bound Traffic of Chakala Junction will be diverted to P.D'Mello Road via Carnac Bunder Bridge at Chakala Junction, half an hour before commencement of the above procession. 2) Traffic coming from Don Talky Junction towards Sir JJ Junction via Maullana Shaukat Ali Road will be diverted to Maullana Azad Road (South) and Duncan Road. 3) Traffic coming from Gol Deul (Round Temple) along with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Road will take right turn and use Bapu Khote Street.

4) Traffic coming at Pydhonie Junction from Abdul Rehman Street & Bapu Khote Street will be diverted to Kalbadevi Road towords Vardhman Chowk. 5) BEST Buses intending to come at Pydhonie Junction from Kalbadevi Road will take right turn at Vardhman Chowk and proceed via L.T Marg, C.S.T Junction, B. Mello Road.

6) All types of vehicles coming via Lalbaug bridge of B A Road from Byculla Traffic Divition shall take right turn from the junction of Khada Parshi via Clare Road - Nagpada Junction - Maulana Azhad Road-Bapu Khote St.- Pydhunie Junction Shall come to Kalbadevi raod and from there shall proceeds towords Vardhaman Jnction Or their Destination. 7) One-way west East vehicular flow of Sophia Zuber road shall be closed for all types of vehicular traffic.

8) All types of heavy vehicles on Balwantsingh Dhodi marg which are intending to go towards Nesbit Juction will take right turn at Nesbit Juction & will be diverted Khada Parsi Juction.

9) Vehicles coming from Pydhonie Junction via Ibrahim Rehamtullah Road will be given right turn at Mandvi junction. They will use Mohammed Ali Road-Chakla Juction-L.T.marg- P.D'Mello road.

10) Vehicles coming from Noorbaug towards Sir J J Junction will be diverted via Dr.Maheshwari road to P.D'Mello Road.

11) The Sir J.J.Flyover bridge will remain open for all types of LMVs, as usaual. LMVS which goes through north bond that vehicles will go for Sofiya Zuber road, which has One Way, will be closed for some while and further proceed through nagpada Junction with right turn towards Khada Parsi Junction.

12) Vehicular traffic from Mazgaon circle on Shivdas chapsi marg south bound towards Noorbaugh will be diverted at Mazgaon Circle on R.M.Naik marg towards Dockyard Junction.

13) Vehicular traffic on Dr. Mascarenhas Road south bound will be diverted on Sant Savata Road from Mustafa Bazar Circle towards Reay road Slip road.

14) Vehicular traffic on Seth Motisha Lane towards Mascarenhas road will be diverted towards Khada Parsi.

15) Vehicular traffic on Dr. B.A. Road south bound will be diverted at D. K. Road towards Barrister Nath Pai road.

16) Vehicular traffic on Rambhau Bhogale Marg towards Mustfa bazaar will be diverted at Ghodapdev Naka towards Barrister Nath Pai road.

17) Vehicular traffic on Balwantsingh Dodhi marg will be closed from Nesbit junction towards Mazgaon court.

18) Vehicular traffic on Saint Savata Marg will be closed from Dr. B.A. road to Mustafa Bazar Junction on both side.

19) Vehicular traffic on Lalbaugh bridge south bound will be diverted from Sant Sawata Marg towards S bridge.

20) Vehicular traffic on Byculla bridge south bound will be diverted at Khada Parsi junction

21) (If Required) The Traffic from Lal Baug Bridge (South Bond) will not go on Byculla Bridge.
