Under the direction of Mumbai City Collector Anchal Goyal, the “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan” has been launched to promote public health and environmental protection through community participation and voluntary public service. The month-long campaign will run from September 17 to October 17 and includes initiatives such as free medical check-ups, blood donation camps and tree plantation drives across various wards.
As part of the campaign’s focus on public health, a free medical check-up camp was organised at the D Ward office. With the support of specialist doctors from Jaslok Hospital, residents received health screenings, including blood pressure and blood sugar checks.
A total of 45 residents benefited from the camp.
The Public Health Department and Municipal Health Department launched the campaign’s public health activities with a blood donation camp in Ghorapdev, E Ward.
The camp was jointly organised by Ghorapdev Sarvajeevan Mandal and the Nair Hospital Blood Bank as part of their efforts to support community welfare. The initiative marked the beginning of the campaign’s blood donation activities and encouraged greater public participation in voluntary service.
Environmental protection activities were also undertaken under the campaign. The Municipal Gardens Department and A Ward planted two flowering Tamhan trees on Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg in the Fort area.
The tree plantation drive was inaugurated by Ujjwal Ingole, Assistant Commissioner of A Ward, marking the launch of the campaign’s environmental initiative in the ward.
Through a series of community-oriented initiatives, the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan aims to encourage public participation in activities focused on health, voluntary service and environmental conservation. The campaign will continue across Mumbai until October 17.
