Mumbai has become the state that offers petrol at the highest price. Petrol prices in Mumbai became highest in the country after the state government increased the value-added tax (VAT) on petrol in the state from April 22 to Rs 3.
After the revised tax effective from Saturday, a litre of petrol in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane areas will now cost Rs 77.45. Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal was leading the list with petrol priced at Rs 75.81 per litre. The petrol is priced at Rs 77.14 per litre in Nagpur.
