The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) today, October 31, announced a 10 per cent water cut for 10 days. This will be imposed in Mumbai, Thane, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), and Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation areas starting tomorrow, Tuesday, November 1.
As per an official statement released by the civic body, the pneumatic gate system installed at Pise Weir in Thane district is in need of urgent repairs. Therefore, the work of replacing air bladders in the pneumatic gate system at Pise will be carried out between November 1, 2022 to November 10, 2022.

During this period, water supply to Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and BMC's water supply to Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) and Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation will get affected. Accordingly, a 10 per cent water cut will be imposed during above mentioned period in MMR and in the water supply to Thane and Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation, the statement further added.
Hence, the civic administration has appealed all citizens to use water judiciously. Citizen's cooperation to Municipal Administration during this period is requested, the order exclaimed.
