Mumbai To Follow Level 3 Unlock Plan. Here's What's Allowed From June 7

As the coronavirus situation in Maharashtra is finally coming under control, the government has finally made its unlocking plan official. The government's detailed five-level plan to initiate the unlock process across Maharashtra will come into effect from June 7, Monday. 

Earlier it was said that Mumbai falls in Level 2 but later BMC clarified that it indeed falls in Level 3 as it has 5.56 per cent positivity rate and 32.51 per cent oxygen bed occupancy. 

Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar on Saturday afternoon spoke to the news agencies and told them that the city falls under level three area and a final call on lifting the curbs will be taken by the district administration.

"Districts of Maharashtra have been put under five levels as per positivity rate and bed occupancy. Mumbai is under level three, so local trains will continue to operate for essential services workers. The final decision on lifting the curbs will be taken by district admin," Pednekar was quoted saying.

As per the guidelines, here is what will be allowed in Mumbai from June 7:

  • All shops dealing with essential items will be open till 4 pm on all days
  • Shops dealing with non-essential items will be open till 4 pm only on weekdays.
  • Malls and theatres will remain closed.
  • Restaurants can offer Dine-in with 50% capacity till 4 pm after which only takeaway and home delivery is permitted
  • Travel in local trains is permitted only for medical and essential services.
  • All passengers will be permitted to travel by BEST buses
  • Cycling and morning walk in public places is allowed between 5 am and 9 am every day.
  • Private offices can remain open till 4 pm on working days
  • Office attendance (including government offices) at 50 per cent
  • Outdoor sports allowed on weekdays from 5 am to 9 am
  • Social/Cultural/Entertainment gatherings allowed with 50% capacity of auditorium or hall. For marriages, the guest list can be of a maximum of 50 people and 20 for funerals.
  • Film shoots are permitted but inside the bubble and no movement outside post 5 pm
  • Construction allowed. Onsite labours or labours must leave by 4 pm
  • E-commerce of all items is allowed
  • Gyms and salons can remain open till 4 pm with a 50% capacity.
