Mumbaikars continue to experience discomfort under the combination of high humidity and high temperatures on Thursday, May 23.

This development comes at a time when the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning alert for the city and its neighbouring areas.

The weather department’s day temperatures recorded 34.3 degrees Celsius with a humidity level of 87 per cent. Owing to such increased humidity levels, the temperatures also felt much higher.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, May 22, maximum temperature at IMD’s Colaba observatory recorded 34.5 degrees Celsius and Santacruz observatory saw 34.7 degree Celsius, a departure of less than one degree above normal. Besides, the minimum temperatures of 27.5 and 28.9 degree Celsius, respectively. The humidity levels were comparatively lesser at 76 and 67 per cent respectively.

The sunrise was recorded at 06:02 am and sunset is predicted at 07:09 pm.

According to the IMD’s seven-day forecast, Mumbaikars can expect a slight decrease in minimum temperatures at 26-27 degrees this week and over the weekend as well, with humid conditions prevailing.

As per reports, other parts of Maharashtra is facing extreme heatwave conditions with recording daytime temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius. The state's highest temperature was reported at 44.8 degrees in Akola district on May 22.
