On Friday, February 11, the Mumbai Police took to Twitter to announce that owing to VIP movement between Malabar Hill and Colaba on Saturday, February 12 from 08.30 to 09:20 and 15.45 to 16:40, traffic on the N.S. Road is likely to slow down. Therefore, they have urged locals to take an alternative route without using the main route to reach the Mumbai suburbs.

Moreover, the authority also added, that due to VIP movement from Malabar Hill to Airport between 12.00 to 13:15 on Sunday, February 13, traffic on Western Expressway is likely to slow down. Therefore, for the mentioned time, locals have been requested to take an alternative route.

Earlier on Thursday, February 10, massive traffic congestion was reported on the Western Express Highway and in south Mumbai because President Ram Nath Kovind arrived for a four-day visit to Maharashtra. According to reports, motorists were late by nearly an hour. Many citizens took to Twitter to bring to light the woes they faced on Thursday, due to the traffic jam. 

Based on accounts, residents of Babulnath in south Mumbai were reportedly not permitted to cross the road on foot as well. Some were stuck at one spot for half an hour.
