The Mumbai Traffic Police has introduced temporary odd-even parking restrictions on seven key roads in the MIDC (Andheri East) area.
The order, issued by Pradeep Chavan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Eastern Suburbs, Traffic), will come into effect from Thursday, May 28, and remain in force until Thursday, August 27.
According to the notification, heavy double-side parking on narrow roads in the MIDC Traffic Division has been causing severe traffic bottlenecks and obstructing emergency services.
Therefore, the police imposed this rule to ease traffic congestion and ensure smooth movement of emergency vehicles.
The measure is expected to significantly improve traffic flow in the busy MIDC industrial and commercial hub.
The traffic police have appealed to motorists to strictly follow the new parking discipline to avoid inconvenience and challans.
