The Mumbai Traffic Police registered 13 FIRs against motorists found driving under the influence during a two-day special drive aimed at curbing drunk driving and protecting public safety.
The drive was conducted over the weekend, on April 13 and 14. The cases were registered under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
The announcement regarding the drive was made on Monday, April 14, via the X platform from the account (@MTPHereToHelp).
In an official statement, the Mumbai police declared: "In a Special Drive against Drunk & Drive and endangering the lives of the general public, Mumbai Traffic Police on 13th & 14th April 2025 registered 13 FIR's under Section 125 of the BNS 2023 against the following drunken drivers." They also provided the names of the individuals who were caught driving under the influence.
