To increase security at the premises at the entrances of its Vidyanagari premises, Mumbai University has introduced a 'Boom Barrier System', as per the report by Mid Day. From July 31, only vehicles with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) stickers will be allowed entry at the premises.
University officials, faculty members and non-teaching staff have been issued RFID stickers by the Mumbai University. Because of high-quality boom barriers and long-range RFID readers, authorised vehicles will get easy access into the campus. Vehicles entering the campus will be automatically recorded, and unauthorised vehicles will be denied entry due to the boom barrier. It has been activated at all three gates.
