Although Wednesday, March 22 is a public holiday, on the occasion of Gudi Padwa, Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Park and Zoo (Ranichi Baug) in Byculla will remain open for tourists. This week Byculla zoo will be closed on Thursday instead of Wednesday. Ranichi Baug in Byculla is closed every Wednesday.

But according to a resolution passed earlier by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), if a public holiday falls on a Wednesday, Ranichi Baug will be kept open to the public on that day. If it is open on Wednesday, then it will be closed on the following day, Thursday.

The ticket window at Byculla zoo is open from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm and the zoo closes at 6:00 pm. Entry fee to this zoo is INR 50 per person and INR 25 for children aged 3 to 15 years. A combined fee of INR 100 is charged for a family of four including parents and two children up to the age of 15 years.
