Mumbai's Popular Floatel 'ARK Deck Bar' which sank on Friday will be ready for Mumbaikars after four months, confirmed Vikrant Chandwadkar, one of the three owners of the floatel.

A few months ago, the floatel ARK Deck Bar was launched. The three storey cruise was stationed nearby Bandra-Worli sea link and had become favourite of Mumbaikars in less time. As per the Maharashtra Maritime Board rules, the floating cruise remains closed for four months i.e. during the rainy season. Accordingly, the cruise was shut down for people after May 25, 2018.

As per reports, the restaurant was called ARK deck bar and was owned by a privately held company, capsized and partially sank at 7:15 PM. It is being said that the cruise was to be transported to Bhaucha Dhakka the same night, the incident happened. A total of 15 people were saved from the boat, and no casualties were reported yet. Officials have mentioned that the floatel started capsizing due to weather change at 2:15 PM, where the anchor moved and hit a rock and detached from the seabed.

Chandwadkar said that in case they fail to repair the cruise, they will bring the new one, but will not upset Mumbaikars.
