The city of Navi Mumbai received heavy rain since June 24 on Saturday. However, this sporadic rain has increased the fall of trees in the city. Every day 10 trees are uprooted. So far 53 trees have fallen in 5 days. However, the park official has informed that there are more brittle Gulmohar trees among the fallen trees.

A few years ago, a large number of trees fell in the city of Navi Mumbai during a natural storm. A large number of trees were uprooted in many parts of the city, Palm Beach along Nerul and Vashi due to the strong winds. But currently there is sporadic rain in the city and a large number of trees are falling down.

From June 24 to June 28, 53 trees have fallen. As these trees fall on the vehicles, the vehicles are also damaged. Monsoon rains have started recently and the number of falling trees is more.

“In the past few days, incidents of trees falling due to rain have been happening in the city of Navi Mumbai. But there are few dangerous trees here and most of the brittle Gulmohar trees. These trees are being uprooted as they are not able to withstand even light winds”, said Dilip Nerkar, Deputy Commissioner, Parks Department, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
