Digha is a new railway station on the Thane-Navi Mumbai-Panvel i.e. Trans Harbor Line railway line. But it is claimed that its inauguration has been stalled in political credulity. Therefore on June 2 (Friday) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena held a rail stop protest at this place. As Rabale police had secured the place, the MNS party workers were not able to stop the train but they left after shouting slogans.

Giving more information about this, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's Airoli assembly president Nilesh Bankhile said that they wanted to convey the message that this station must be put to service as soon as possible. The station is fully ready and the unanswered question is why the train does not stop here. He also warned that if there is proper action on it, then there will be a strong MNS style agitation. Many MNS workers were present on this occasion.

Digha station is between Airoli and Thane. The distance from Airoli to Thane is about 9 kms. It has two and a half lakh population in Digha area and there are only two levels of residents living there namely middle and poor. So they have to walk at least 3/4 km from both sides to reach the station. So, keeping this need in mind, the station has been built after many years of demand. On the other hand, the equipped station is in a derelict state. Therefore, the demand is being made by the common citizens that the staff should be hired as soon as possible.
