The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation's (NMMC) first multi-storey parking lot at Belapur will be operational soon. The parking lot is almost complete. The multi-storey parking lot has space for 476 four-wheelers and 121 two-wheelers.
A parking lot is being constructed at Sector 15 in Belapur which is close to Palm Beach Road, Belapur Court and the newly developed jetty for water transport.
Additionally, this parking lot is near many infrastructure projects. However, due to lack of dedicated parking lots, people are seen parking on the roadside. To solve the problem of street parking, the NMMC has decided to arrange parking in 2018.
The administrative body is also setting up charging stations at the parking lot. “As the number of electric vehicles in the city is increasing, there is a need for adequate charging stations. Charging stations at parking lots will help,” a senior municipal official told the Free Press.
