Navi Mumbai: Over 50% Fully Vaccinated In NMMC

According to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) they have fully inoculated more than 50% which is 5.4 lakh of its citizens with both jabs of the coronavirus vaccine, stated a report by the Times of India.

Apart from this, over 97% of the eligible population have been inoculated with at least the first jab to date that is supposed to be the highest in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Additionally, more than 16 lakh doses have been given in the jurisdiction of the NMMC.

In addition to this, with the Navratri festival here, pandals in Navi Mumbai have increased this year. Whilst garba and dandiya aren’t permitted, a report by the Hindustan Times stated that 86 pandals have been put up in the city which when compared to last year was 56.

The report further elaborates that the NMMC attained 91 applications of which five were rejected and the number of those approved were 86.

Additionally, the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has accorded permission to 91 pandals in the city for Navratri, with nearly 214 pandals requesting permission through offline and online avenues in the past few days. The TMC has also instructed that Navratri guidelines proclaimed by them that comprise curating awareness programmes and blood donation drives be adhered to.
