A slab on the third floor of a residential building in Koparkhairane collapsed on July 15 at around 5 pm, prompting the evacuation of the structure as a precautionary measure. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
The incident occurred at Flat No. 302 in Arthav Society, located on Plot No. 14 in Sector 18, Koparkhairane. The collapsed slab from the third-floor flat crashed into Flat No. 202 on the floor below.
As a precaution, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) shifted residents to temporary accommodation at Annasaheb Patil Hall in Sector 5, Koparkhairane. The building's electricity and water supply has been disconnected.
The building has been evacuated and sealed, and police personnel have been deployed at the site to prevent unauthorised entry and maintain security while further inspection and assessment are carried out.
