According to a latest information received from the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), the scheduled water cut at Kamothe node on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, has been postponed and regular water supply will be provided to the residents.

This development came after residents expressed their resentment over the water cut during extreme summer.

Earlier, the CIDCO had informed that owing to maintenance work, which will be carried by Navi Mumbai civic body, the water supply was to get affected in sector 1-11 and sector 33-36 for at least 12 hours on May 30. Moreover, a low-pressure supply was also announced for the next day, May 31.

The civic body has enforced shutdown at Bhokarpada water treatment plant near Morbe dam to carry out the repairing and maintenance work of the main supply line between Morbe dam and Digha in view of ensuing monsoon.

The citizens of Navi Mumbai are now encountering a day-long non-supply a week with the nodal wise rationing system. Therefore, water cut without making alternate arrangements is troublesome for the people, complained residents.

According to the NMMC report, the dam has just 30 per cent of its stock which can only stretch till the first week of August. In case of late arrival of monsoon, the civic body will prefer further rationing of water supply.
