Many Mumbaikars complained of a power cut on Monday morning. Citizens from south, central and north Mumbai took to Twitter to mention about the power cut.
The electric supply is inttruptted due to TATAs incoming electric supply faiure.

Best Electricity has acknowledged the issue and said that that it is due to grid failure.
Adani too has mentioned that it is working on restoring the power at the earliest and is supplying electricity to critical services.

Update: According to BEST, Electric power failure due to Central grid failure of TATA Power at Kalwa. It will take 45 min to 1 hour to restore the supply.
As per Adani, 50 per cent of Maharashtra is impacted due to grid failure and it will take 3 hours to restore supply.

Update 2: State Energy Minister, Nitin Raut, "Due to a technical glitch in Circuit 2 of the Kalva-Padghe powerhouse, the regions between Thane and Mumbai are facing a power cut. Our staff is working on it and power will be restored in an hour or 45 minutes".

The unexpected electricity outage has also impacted the local suburban trains in the city. Both western and central Railways has posted regarding interruption of services.

As of now, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), has mentioned that despite the power cut, it is working normally.
Iqbal Singh Chahal, Municipal Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai has issued a statement that reads, "All hospitals to contact their respective SWM transport GARAGE officers to get enough supply of diesel for at least eight hours so that there is no power failures in hospitals especially ICUs. In case of any issues please contact disaster control room for help". He has also asked Disaster control and CE M&E to keep MOBILE DG SET vehicles handy within next one hour in case power failure continues beyond two hours and asked reports to be sent every half an hour.
Update at 12:38 pm : Electricity has restored in parts of Mumbai. Our readers in Dharavi, Dadar, Andheri (both east and west) have shared that power is back up. Also, Central Railways has shared that they have restored operations of Harbour line at 10:55 am
