38-year-old man died on Friday morning after a tree branch fell on him in Malad. The incident took place around 6:29 in the morning. The deceased, Shailesh Mohanlal Rathod, was rushed to Kandivli's Shatabdi hospital but he died during treatment. 

The deceased was a resident in Nadiadwala colony in Malad and was hit by a tree branch while he was returning home from the temple. Shailesh Rathod had severe injuries and was admitted to the hospital soon after the incident. 

In Mumbai, during the monsoon season, several cases of deaths by tree branches falling are reported. In the past three days, the city has witnessed heavy rain pour along with strong winds. Earlier on Wednesday, a senior citizen named Madhukar Narvekar (62) also lost his life after a cement sheet from a hoarding fell on him outside Churchgate railway station.

Narvekar was rushed to G.T. Hospital in Fort where he succumbed to his injuries. So far, there have been 3 casualties in Mumbai this season. 2 school kids died in Kandivali after being electrocuted by live wires and a woman died in Chembur after the tin ceiling of her shanties collapsed.
