Mumbai: Owner of Bandras iconic Janata Bar passes away at 67

Lokesh Shetty, owner of Janata Bar in Bandra has passed away. He breathed his last at Criticare Multispeciality Hospital and Research Center, Juhu at 10:00 am on Saturday. He suffered from uncontrolled diabetes which caused both his kidneys to fail. Doctors had declared him unfit for the kidney transplant procedure due to his weakened immunity.

His body was cremated late in the evening at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Santacruz Electrical Crematorium near Juhu Garden. After completing the documents and formalities related to his cremation rituals, the body was moved to the crematorium at around 5:00 pm. The last rites were performed around seven in the evening.

Shetty completed his graduation in science from Shri Mahaveer College, Mudbidri. After graduation, he joined his father's hotel business and later started Janata Bar, in Bandra. Shetty lived in Khar west, Mumbai and is survived by his wife and daughter.
