According to reports, the Panvel City Municipal Corporation (PCMC) claims that it has vaccinated 100 per cent of those eligible with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Nonetheless, taking into account the floating population, the civic body has urged those who could have been possibly left out to get inoculated at the PCMC vaccination centres for no cost.

Presently, 68.43 per cent of those eligible have received their second jab. Based on accounts, PCMC Commissioner, Ganesh Deshmukh elaborated that in cognizance of the revised target sent by the Maharashtra government for vaccination, they have covered over 100 per cent with the first jab.

This according to Deshmukh has been done through the means of organizing camps, undertaking door to door drives as well as being assisted with more than 29 centres.

Deshmukh mentioned that the target was to inoculate the 5.98 lakh eligible population which they have attained. Now, their focus will be on administering the second dose.

Apart from this, nearly 15 million individuals in Maharashtra are yet to take even the first jab. The state’s target adult population is 91.5 million and by Tuesday evening, it had administered over 120 million doses.
