Petrol, diesel prices at all time high in Mumbai, Thane after hike for 4 consecutive days

Petrol prices had maintained stability since September 5, but oil companies finally raised the pump prices last week on Tuesday given a spurt in the product prices lately. It has now followed diesel with regular hikes in prices for the last four days.

After the fuel rates touched new highs, the prices of petrol and diesel remained unchanged today, October 4.

The pump prices of both fuels rose simultaneously for four consecutive days taking up its retail rates by over INR 1 per litre.

With this, the petrol prices were at an all-time high in Mumbai as it crossed the INR 108 mark and diesel might soon touch the INR 100 mark.

In Mumbai, the petrol price is now at INR 108.43 per litre while the diesel rate is INR 98.48 a litre. Thane, too, saw a hike in fuel prices with one litre of petrol costing INR 108.33 and diesel being priced at INR 98.29.

The price of petrol was the costliest in the state in Parbhani at INR 110.75, while diesel was the most expensive in Amravati at INR 99.70 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of petrol in Delhi rose to its highest ever level of INR 102.39 a litre and diesel rates too touched a record high of INR 90.77.

In Kolkata, petrol is available at INR 103.07 and diesel at INR 93.87 per litre and in Chennai, it's being sold at INR 100.01 for one litre of petrol and INR 95.31 for one litre of diesel.
